This training will cover the 200-hour Yoga Alliance requirements, establishing a great introduction to yoga. Beyond the basics, we will highlight alignment, adjustments and teaching delivery. We believe this training will also be very useful for the more experienced student/teacher. Our instructors are talented, experienced and dedicated teachers. The combination of skills from Ann Marie, Ann, Scott, Priya, Jane, Jolisa, Mary and Durga make this 200-hour teacher training well rounded, detailed and full of wisdom. Our training takes place in beautiful Lake Tahoe, CA. The studio is located in downtown Truckee, making it easy to access the nearby Truckee river, hiking trails, cafes, restaurants and shopping. Payment Information Enrollment will be limited. A deposit of $500 (check to “Namaste”) is required at the time of your submitted application. If accepted into the training, your check will be deposited. Otherwise, you will not be charged the $500. The total cost of the course is $2500. There is an interest free monthly payment plan of $500/month over a 5-month period available. Please note that if you cancel within 14 days before the start date of the training you will forfeit $250 of your deposit and your remaining balance will be refunded. Once the training has begun tuition is non-refundable. Teacher Bios Ann Marie Sheridan – Lead Trainer – E-RYT, CMT Ann Marie first began practicing 24 years ago and has been teaching for 22 years. She is a certified Yoga Instructor with the Yoga Alliance, a massage therapist of 16 years, a Diet Counselor and the founder of Namaste Holistic Healing & Yoga Center in Truckee, CA. Her most influential yoga teachers are Richard Freeman, Judith Lasater, Paul Grilley, David Swenson, Rod Stryker, Ann Austin, Pattabhi Jois, Patricia Walden, Dharma Mittra and Darshan Khalsa. Ann Marie’s class styles include: alignment-orientated Hatha, Ashtanga inspired, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative. She is a dedicated to her meditation practice and teaches guided mediation. In her free time she enjoys rock climbing, playing music & singing, cross country skiing, hiking, mountain biking & traveling. We would love to share this experience with you!” Ann Austin – E-RYT 500 Ann has been dedicated to the practice of yoga for 24 years. Her classes are inspired by her own practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. Ann creates a space that is safe yet also challenging to her students. She encourages students to move beyond what they think is possible in a mindful way. Yoga is about transformation, and to practice with Ann, students experience this firsthand. Trained to teach yoga in 2000, Ann received a certification with the Piedmont Yoga Studio in Oakland California and is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour level. Continuing her yoga education is very important to Ann and she has participated in many different teacher trainings and workshops. As a student of all types of yoga, she has studied with senior Iyengar, Ashtanga and Hatha yoga teachers. She is very grateful to her Ashtanga yoga teacher John Smith, for his support over the last 15 years. Chanting the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali is a major part of Ann’s personal yoga practice. Ann is fortunate to study with Kate Holcombe of the Healing Yoga Foundation in San Francisco. She is grateful for Kate’s skill of teaching of the Yoga Sutra and her ability to make this ancient yoga text relevant today to the modern yogi. Scott obtained his Masters of Physical Therapy from UC San Francisco in 1992. He has been a proponent of yoga and embraces holistic medicine including acupuncture and massage therapy as part of his private practice in Truckee CA. Scott recently received his 200 hour Yoga Alliance teaching certificate from the Yoga School Institute and continues to bring the yoga philosophy into his personal and professional life. He has worked around the globe with the T-Mobile, HTC/Columbia and Garmin/Slipstream cycling teams, the Chinese Olympic Teams, as well as national and club soccer teams in Qatar and enjoys blending yoga into performance therapy for all his clients.
