Ann Marie Sheridan
I moved to Truckee in 2002 to begin my full-time career as a yoga teacher and massage therapist. I worked at a chiropractic offices prepping patients for their adjustments, and also at the hospital assisting physical therapists. As the years passed, I leaned a lot from my mentors and was inspired to learn more about injuries, the healing process and specific massage techniques to help my clients reestablish their active life styles. My yoga expanded to various styles and I attended workshops and conferences several times each year to gain more knowledge.
There were some bumps along the road dealing with scheduling issues, double booked office space, unfair compensation, expensive rates and driving around to too many different locations. I began to feel exhausted and scattered. In order to help others, it is necessary to keep your own health in check and well-balanced. I wanted to work at a place where I felt comfortable and grounded so that I could provide my clients and students with quality sessions and classes. I also wanted to be in a space that was affordable and catered to our local mountain community.
I opened Namaste in 2010 and it has been an incredible experience putting all of my energy into one location. Our group of practitioners and teachers feel great in this space and we do our job exquisitely. We cater to the locals and frequent guests to our community by creating a non-intimidating and welcoming studio and treatment rooms. We look forward to helping on your journey to wellness.
