Dr. Wendy Burchett, PsyD., LMFT Dr. Wendy Burchett has been working as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for the past 11 years and has both a master's degree and doctoral degree in applied clinical psychology. She has experience in multiple settings working with individuals, couples, youth with high-risk behaviors, first responders and active duty military. Most recently, Dr. Burchett was employed as a therapist at a private inpatient facility addressing both mental health and substance abuse issues. Dr. Burchett specializes in working with individuals with anxiety and/or depression, substance abuse and recovery, codependency, women's issues, trauma (PTSD or PTS) , military and veterans, first responders and those facing relationship or life transition concerns.
While working with clients, Dr. Burchett focuses on the whole person, pulling forward your strengths and wisdom to solve life's challenges. She uses solution-focused, cognitive behavioral and emotion-focused interventions to help clients reach their goals. Dr. Burchett works with people from a humanistic and holistic perspective. This means the core assumption of her work is the view that each person is their own best expert for healing. Dr. Burchett believes strongly in addressing life's challenges from a perspective involving the mind, body and spirit in the healing process. Dr. Burchett also has a certificate in nutrition for mental health which assists in holistic treatment. She will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is right for you as an individual to include holistic treatment or without including those aspects if you are not interested. Dr. Burchett will work with you to create a tailored treatment plan to address your specific needs, interests and goals. |
