Meet our Practitioner
Katina Varzos Katina Varzos is a psychiatric nurse practitioner who offers psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management. Katina earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Cornell University and a Master’s in Nursing from Yale University. Her initial clinical specialty was in midwifery and women’s health. She later obtained post-master’s training in psychiatric-mental health care. She is board certified by both the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and the American College of Nurse Midwives. Additionally, Katina has earned a Doctorate in Nursing practice, the highest level of education and training in her field. Katina has extensive experience working with severe, persistent mental illness in home-based and community health settings. Additionally, she has operated a private practice with in-home services specializing in perinatal mental health. Katina developed a psychiatric medication management service for college students at Wesleyan University. She has also worked intensively with families, teens, and young adults struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. Katina helped to launch a program specifically geared towards the needs of women with substance use and mental health issues and expanded services for young men and LGBTQ+ youth in a residential treatment center setting. Most recently, Katina has earned certification from the Integrative Psychiatric Institue in psychedelic assisted therapy. Taking a holistic and collaborative approach to care, Katina combines evidence-based treatment modalities and ongoing education to empower clients in their path towards recovery.
